Use What You Have: Floral Background, 2 Ways

Hello my crafter friends.  After a long absence I am finally back with not 1 but 2 cards for you today.  I've already posted it to my Youtube channel and I'd love for you to check it out.
I knew when I started that I will be using old supplies.  This means I am 'forced' to think of ways to use the stamps in my stash over and over again.  Now one thing I learned over the years is that you can totally use individual stamps as card background.   For this card, I stamped the elements onto a watercolor paper and using Versafine ink I was able to safely color my spring inspired stamps with Inktense color pencils.
I currently own 6 colors from Art Friend's open stock and am looking into buying the 24 pencils in a tin packaging because I think I'm in love.  I was very careful and only did some light strokes on the areas I figured would be the darkest but as I got more confident with my lighting I added more colors to it.  Boy! the colors were really vibrant and intense. And I'm not even good in coloring but I was really satisfied with the way it looked in the end.  Did I mention I fell in love with it?

For the sentiments, I used this cutout sentiments from Rosie's Studio and generously used distress ink over it.  I could've just left it at white but I just don't think you can do wrong by adding more colors to an already vibrant background.  At least that was my thought process while making this card.

While making the cards, my iphone decided for itself that it had had enough and refused to take more recordings.  I was left with bits of clip here and there and ugghh..it was quite a mess of a disaster.  But let me breeze you through the process of making this second card.  I stamped the same background on a piece of kraft card stock  and instead of coloring, I attempted the embossing look by tracing the ink outline with a gold Uniball Signo pen.

What do you think of this faux gold embossing look? Yay or nay?  If you decide to try it in your project, please let me know of the result. I would love to have a look at your project.
Finishing the 2 cards are just standard procedure, I used green and black cardstock respectively to make a side and a landscape top folding card AND that my friends is how I made 2 floral background  cards, 2 ways.

You can check out the video below and with that I will see you soon with another card.
